Tunisia was awarded the seat of AIMEC after a long run of competitions with other member countries.

The Africa Department within the Ministry of Trade and Export Development is responsible for managing the Tunisian Headquarters allocation project by negotiating all details with the African Union in consultation with relevant national stakeholders.
